4/5 Stars

Interesting book about ‘Lost Spaces, Invisible Cities, Forgotten Islands, Feral Places, and What They Tell Us About the World’.

There are some sad stories, Twayil Abu Jarwal, for example. Whether a place exists depends on your point of view.

There are some fun stories, Baarle-Nassau a Dutch town, with bits of Baarle-Hertog, a Belgium town inside it.

There are some historic stories, the underground cities of Cappadocia for example.

For a book about being off the map, an actual map, or series of maps would have gotten 5 stars. To be able to put these places in a context, would have helped link these stories, but the book is well worth a read nevertheless.

Maybe something for the 2nd edition?
