A wonderful book that is a children’s classic, (outselling Gone With The Wind when published in 1936).
It is the drawings that elevate the book, based on Ronda in Andalusia, Spain.
The book is never moralising.
It allows the reader to consider the ramifications of Ferdinand’s behaviour, and the behaviour of others towards him.
