The last in the wonderful ‘Arthur’ series by Alan Coren, written in the mid-seventies.

Brief and easy to read, the books contain good characterization, surprises, battles and dressing up – all things kids will love.

Children’s books didn’t used to come with a recommended age range, I would suggest 4 to 9 years old.

Thee books are great because they are historical fiction. For example, in Arthur’s last Stand – the historical part – we get to meet the leader of the Sioux on a raiding party over in Montana – and the fictional part – a 7-year old Arthur defeats the leader Chief Cloud-That-Dances and all his braves.
