Remarkably, Nantucket is a real place. It really exists off the Eastern seaboard of the United States. A 19th century whaling industry gave way to up-market tourism by the late 20th century. (See map below – bottom right).

It is a thrilling read, never losing pace, always twisting and turning. It continues from ‘Black Hearts over Battersea’ where Dido was shipwrecked and somehow she lands on the island of Nantucket. There is a mysterious scientist, a cruel and horrible aunt, a pink whale and plots against the King of England.
Let us cry ‘For King and Country once more!’
